Southeast 技术学院 is committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming experience by providing services and supports that ensure students can access and participate in all the activities, programs and services.

To ensure equal access, 可及性服务 provides accommodations, education, consultation and advocacy for qualified students with disabilities at Southeast Technical 大学. In accordance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, and the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendment Act of 2008, Southeast 技术学院 ensures that no student with a disability will be discriminated against or denied access to, participation in, or benefits of programs, services and activities offered by Southeast 技术学院.  可及性服务 will work collaboratively with students to identify reasonable accommodations that support them in their academic programs and co-curricular activities at Southeast 技术学院.

Admission decisions are made without regard to disability and you are not required to disclose your disability during the admissions process. 你确实需要被录取 student at Southeast Tech, however, to fully complete the registration process for 可及性服务.

Once admitted to Southeast Tech, students in need of accommodation must self-identify with 可及性服务 to request and receive reasonable accommodations. 学生 may also self-identify to and be referred by faculty, advisors, or other student support 工作人员. 请 note that students may request accommodation at any point during their education, including at any point during a semester.

学生 must provide qualifying, professional documentation of their disability. Documentation requirements vary according to the unique nature of the student’s disability. 请 view the Southeast Tech Disability Documentation Guidelines in preparing documentation 要求提交. It is important to note that 可及性服务 does not test 诊断或诊断残疾. If a student does not have documentation of their disability, the 可及性服务 Coordinator can provide referral for further evaluation.

Review of Information and Interactive Process

可及性服务 uses an interactive process to determine reasonable accommodations that meet the individual needs of each student. The 可及性服务 Coordinator determines reasonable accommodations based on information from the student registration form, conversation with the student, documentation, professional standards, and other 适用的注意事项. The 可及性服务 Coordinator will then meet with the student to discuss accommodation options based on each student’s unique request 和需要.
